800 Bio-pore Holes Built at West Jakarta Mayor Office Yard

West Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Muhammad Yuliadi, instructed all urban village and sub-district heads in the municipality to multiply the making of bio-pore holes. The making of this absorption hole is expected would increase the infiltration rate of rainwater into the ground. Thus, the rainwater would not be a waste and cause flood during rainy season.

“We hope the residents would care, realize, and also make bio-pore holes in their houses. This is our mutual need, because bio-pore holes can also prevent puddles and the spread of diseases caused by mosquito, such as dengue fever and malaria,” uttered Yuliadi when inaugurating the making of 800 bio-pore holes at the yard of West Jakarta Mayor office, Friday (9/12).

According to him, 800 bio-pore holes are made at the yard of West Jakarta Mayor office to eliminate puddles in the area which often inundated for as high 10 centimeters during rainy season. The making itself is in cooperation with TNI personnel from 052/Wijayakrama Military Regional Command (Korem).

052/Wijayakrama Korem Commandant Colonel Kav. Wawan Ruswandi said that besides making bio-pore holes at the yard of West Jakarta Mayor office, his party also makes 228,000 bio-pore holes in three other locations. Those locations are West Jakarta (36,000 bio-pore holes), North Jakarta (36,000 bio-pore holes), and Tangerang.
